William J. Long


Mr. Long brings 25 years of venture capital, investment banking and operating executive experience in the San Francisco Bay Area to Stonepine Advisors. Stonepine Advisors is a boutique investment bank providing capital raising, M&A advisory and strategic consulting services to emerging and mid-sized technology and life sciences companies.

Bill joined Stonepine Advisors after his tenure at Mohr Davidow Ventures, where he advised technology, life science and clean tech companies on business strategy, financing and M&A. With his deep experience managing IPOs and M&A transactions, Bill assisted a number of Mohr Davidow companies with these strategic initiatives. His venture capital experience also includes co-heading TriplePoint Capital's Private Equity Group where he invested with other leading venture capital and private equity firms. At TriplePoint, Bill had a distinguished record of investment performance. Bill's investment banking experience includes serving as a senior banker at JPMorgan in San Francisco and at predecessor Hambrecht & Quist. Earlier in his career, Bill worked as an investment banker at Alex, Brown & Sons and served as a commercial loan officer for Maryland National Bank.

In addition to his financial services experience, Bill served on the executive teams of Vivra, Inc. a national dialysis provider and McGaw, Inc., a diversified hospital supply and pharmaceutical manufacturer. He is a graduate of the Loyola University, Baltimore, where he earned a B.A. in Business Administration.
