Satellite Healthcare Appoints Brigitte Schiller MD to Chief Medical Officer
Mountain View, CA, July 29, 2010 – Satellite Healthcare, one of the nation's first and leading not-for-profit kidney dialysis service providers and a major sponsor of nephrology research, announced today that it has named Dr. Brigitte Schiller Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Schiller had been serving as acting CMO for Satellite Healthcare, and the company is thrilled that she has agreed to accept this position in a permanent capacity, effective immediately.

As CMO, Dr. Schiller will work closely with the Medical Directors and the Executive Team across Satellite Dialysis and WellBound, as well as oversee the internal and contract research priorities. She will also organize, develop, implement and monitor clinical practices and therapies across the company's 47 Satellite Dialysis and Wellbound locations.
Brigitte brings a wealth of experience to her new post having served as a practicing nephrologist in both the US and Europe in academic and private practice settings. A summa cum laude graduate of the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg (Germany), she completed her post-graduate training, residency and research fellowships at the University of Munich, St. Luke's Medical Center, Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. She is frequently invited to speak at medical conferences, has published more than twenty articles on dialysis and kidney-related issues, and currently serves as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology at Stanford University.
