Leader in home dialysis
For more than 20 years, Satellite has successfully trained and supported a higher percentage of its patients on home modalities – twice the rate of other providers.

Treating the whole patient
Patient care is more than Kt/V. Satellite has a dedicated interdisciplinary team – nurses, dialysis technicians, renal dietitians, medical social workers, patient educators, and more – to support each patient on their CKD journey.

Easy access to patient information
Satellite’s ongoing technology investment ensures nephrologists have secure access to patient records anytime from any digital device.

An emphasis on patient education and engagement
The most important person on any care team is the patient. Our public health experts have created thoughtful, engaging patient education materials that help patients understand the choices and resources they have to live the best life possible.

Unparalleled opportunities to create the future of patient care
Well known for its robust applied, pragmatic research program, Satellite and its physician partners work together to reimagine care models to improve patients’ lives.

Complex challenges as well as transformational ESKD care progress are best addressed through direct, physician to physician collaboration.

Physicians have a sincere and standing invitation to reach out to our Chief Medical Officer council, who welcome ideas, comments, and concerns at any time.

Physicians also lead our Medical Policy Committee, Corporate Policy Council and the planning for the annual Medical Director Meeting and are relied upon to help Satellite leaders better advocate for patients and practitioners.

Unlike for-profit dialysis providers, who are defined by size and often driven by financial objectives, Satellite prioritizes the needs of patients, physicians and staff above all else. These priorities are an important distinction in our defining mission and are the reason we call ourselves a CDO - a Caring Dialysis Organization.

How we work has always been equally important to the work that we do. Our core values are laser focused on 'mission' rather than 'bottom line'.  Our mission – to make lives better for those living with kidney disease – drives our operations strategy. That mission puts patients first and dictates daily agenda setting throughout the entire organization, from the patient treatment area to the boardroom.

It is this alignment in purpose that creates a palpably different organization, reflected in our high-quality reputation and the compassionate environment of our centers and validated by our superior patient experience ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Our commitment to advance CKD/ESKD care is the reason we donate time and talent to develop resources for the nephrology community that promote kidney health, education and research. These resources include our monthly physician newsletter ‘Humanizing Dialysis’, monthly podcast ‘NephTalk', whitepapers and published peer-reviewed research studies.

It isn't about dialysis

With all the talk about treatment, we never lose sight that what it’s really about is helping people live a longer, healthier life that includes time to enjoy the moments of joy that make life worth living.

A strong and stable non-profit that puts people first

Satellite was founded as a non-profit organization by a pioneering kidney doctor. For nearly 50 years, our physician-led organization has continued to offer people living with CKD expert treatment, compassionate support and empowering education that helps them live their best life possible.
