Recipe: No-Salt-Added Pizza

Ingredients:


Dough:

  • ½ package (1 ¼ tsp.) dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 cup flour

Sauce:

  • 3 oz. no-salt tomato paste
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
  • ½ lb. ground beef, browned and drained
  • 6 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F.
  2. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in 1 Tbsp. oil, 1 Tbsp. sugar and enough flour to make a soft dough. Stir 20 strokes. Place in a greased bowl, turn to moisten all surfaces, cover and let rise in a warm place.
  3. Combine tomato paste, ½ cup water, garlic powder oregano, sugar and oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer 5 minutes.
  4. Grease a 17” x 14” baking sheet. Press dough onto sheet, stretching to edges. Cover with sauce. Top with onion, green pepper, beef and cheese. Bake 20–30 minutes until dough and cheese are golden brown. Cut into 12 pieces.
