Recipe: Chili Verde

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. fresh pork, cut into chunks
  • 1 medium potato, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 – 2 cups water
  • ½ cup green chile, chopped (mild, medium or hot)
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • flour tortillas
  • crushed or powdered red chiles (optional)

Directions:

Brown pork and potato in a skillet. Add onion and sauté until tender. Stir in water and remaining ingredients. Simmer until tender and almost all of the water has evaporated. Serve wrapped in flour tortillas. If desired, season to taste with crushed or powdered red chiles.
