Satellite Healthcare’s Sheila Doss Elected Western Chapters Coordinator-Elect
of the American Nephrology Nurses' Association

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA February 9, 2010 – Sheila Doss, BSN, RN, CNN, CCRA of San Jose, California, has been re-elected Western Chapters Coordinator-Elect (CCE) of the American Nephrology Nurses' Association (ANNA) for 2010-11.

Doss, Nursing Director of Research of Satellite Healthcare will assume her position during ANNA's 41st National Symposium in San Antonio, TX, May 2-5, 2010.

As Western CCE, Doss will coordinate and supervise regional chapter activities, report to the regional vice president and serve as a member on appropriate committees. In March 2011, Doss will assume the role of Western Chapters Coordinator (CC).

Doss has been an active member of ANNA at the local, regional and national levels. She previously was Western CCE and CC from 2008-10. During that time, she worked closely on recruitment and retention with her local chapters. Doss is involved in advocacy with ANNA, and has served as Western Region Health Policy Advisor (2002-04) and chair of ANNA's Health Policy Committee since 2004. During that time, she implemented a plan to redefine the role of the Health Policy Committee (formerly the Legislative Committee). She has held the positions of secretary and president of her local chapter (Northern California Chapter). She has also been a member of the Hemodialysis Special Interest Group. Doss is an active member of the Northern California Chapter of the National Kidney Foundation.

Doss has been a member of ANNA for 20 years. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Saint Mary, Leavenworth, KS, and her nursing diploma from Methodist Medical Center School of Nursing, St. Joseph, MO.
