A 23-year veteran of the kidney dialysis field, Ms. Funes knows the importance of the NKF’s education and awareness building about kidney disease. “Our education programs are outstanding,” Ms. Funes said. “We do both individual and group training about how to deal with high blood pressure, stress, diet and exercise. We empower our patients through education so they can choose the therapy that’s best for them, whether it’s home hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis or just adopting a healthier lifestyle to prevent the onset of serious kidney disease.
