Improving the Lives of Patients
Guided by an independent Scientific Advisory Board of leading researchers and
the Satellite Healthcare Board of Directors, Satellite Philanthropy operates
at many levels to improve the lives of patients with chronic kidney disease,
including using its funds to:
- help lessen the financial and practical barriers to patients’ access
to treatment;
- educate patients, families, and medical practitioners about
all aspects of kidney disease;
- support the study and exploration of
the causes and cures for kidney disease, including funding of universities
and academic institutions nationwide through the Norman S. Coplon Extramural
Grants; and
- advance the medical and general understanding of kidney disease
and its prevention and treatment.
