John Moran, M.D.

John Moran, M.D., Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs for Satellite Healthcare, is a kidney disease expert with 30 years of academic research and clinical trial experience. John is responsible for setting and implementing the research strategy and policy for the organization. He graduated in medicine from the University of Melbourne (Australia). After clinical training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology in that institution, Dr. Moran spent three years in research in the immunology of renal disease at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London. Following that he returned to Melbourne as attending physician in Nephrology and Internal medicine, then worked as a senior research associate at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research. In 1991 Dr. Moran joined the Renal Division of Baxter Healthcare in Deerfield, Ill, as Global Medical Director, and in 1995 he became vice president for Clinical Development and Outcomes Research. He was instrumental in the design and execution of the recently published ADEMEX study of PD adequacy. In 1998 he joined Vasca, Inc., as chief medical officer, where he was responsible for the clinical trials of the LifeSite devices for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis access. Dr. Moran has published 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed chapters to six textbooks on nephrology.
