Community Open House Set to Mark the Occasion

OAKLAND, CALIF. - MARCH 18, 2013 — Satellite Healthcare, one of the nation's first and leading not-for-profit providers of kidney dialysis services and a major sponsor of kidney research, is pleased to announce the opening of its first Satellite Dialysis location in Oakland, California. The in-center dialysis clinic will open its doors to the public with an open house on Tuesday, March 19th.

This is Satellite Healthcare's first dialysis clinic in Oakland and second in-center clinic in the East Bay, preceded by Satellite Dialysis - San Leandro. Satellite WellBound, a division of the organization that provides patients with multiple "self-care" treatment options, also currently has a presence in San Leandro and Emeryville.

“We're pleased to provide increased access to dialysis care for those suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease in Oakland,” said Marc Branson, Satellite Healthcare's Executive Vice President. “This area has a particularly high population of at-risk individuals and we're glad to finally be able to help those who didn't have access to high quality dialysis services.”

More than 26 million Americans have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), with an additional 20 million - including African-Americans, Latinos, Pacific Islanders, and American Indians - at increased risk. Satellite Healthcare has more than 40 in-center locations and 18 home-dialysis centers nationwide, servicing more than 5,000 patients coast-to-coast.

The new center is located at 3330 Telegraph Ave, Oakland. The open house will take place at the center from 3:30-7:00 p.m. on March 19th, and is open to the public.
