Recipe: Sharon's Chinese 5 Spice Carrots
This low-sodium side is so easy to make, we almost don’t need a recipe! Chinese 5 Spice is a blend of cinnamon, cloves, fennel, star anise, and Szechwan peppercorns. It is guaranteed to add zip and is an excellent salt-alternative seasoning. Try a little at first and add more to your taste.

- 2 cups chopped carrots
- 1 tablespoon corn oil
- Chinese 5 Spice Powder to taste
- Heat oil in a pan and add carrots. Sprinkle spice blend over the top and toss to coat. Saute over medium heat until soft.
- Serve along with your meal. Enjoy!
