Helping Those Impacted by Hurricane Harvey

Over the weekend, Hurricane Harvey brought high winds and heavy rains to an area that includes some of Texas’ most populous cities. It stretched along the state’s Gulf Coast from Corpus Christi to Houston and inland to Austin and San Antonio. As we know all too well, extreme weather systems such as this significantly impact people’s lives. Being prepared is crucial. In preparation for natural disasters, last year Satellite Healthcare purchased two truck-mounted backup generators for the area so our centers can be operational when a severe power outage occurs.

Countless calls inquiring about the well-being of our Texas colleagues and patients have come in from across the organization. We have a team on the ground that personally reached out to and connected with those in the area. Despite the devastation and steady rains, I am pleased to report our Satellite Healthcare colleagues are safe and accounted for. Patients, particularly those in Houston, have been harder to reach due to power outages. Rest assured we will continue to check on the status of colleagues and patients. All of our centers in Austin and Laredo are open and fully operational. WellBound of Houston is closed due to lack of access.

Please keep our colleagues, patients and their families in your thoughts. Should you wish to help those in Texas, please direct donations to any of these organizations:
