Preparing for Your Appointment

  • Arrive 45 minutes before your appointment time for pre-registration
    - Your appointment time is the actual time of your procedure
  • Bring your insurance card(s) and driver license with you to your appointment
  • If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call 408-225-2005 to reschedule

Arrival

Be on time for your appointment. We recommend that you arrive 45 minutes before your appointment to complete the in-take process. If you are going to be late or are unable to make your appointment, please call and let us know. We will be happy to reschedule your appointment for a date and time that best fits your schedule.

Blood Thinners

If you are taking blood thinners (Warfrin, Coumadin, Plavix, Eliquis, etc.) stop taking them three days before your procedure unless otherwise instructed by your physician.

Anesthesia

If you would like anesthesia for your procedure, do not eat or drink within eight hours of your appointment. You can continue to take your regularly prescribed medications with water.

If you elect to receive mild sedation during your procedure, you should not drive a vehicle for 12 hours after your procedure. You will need to make transportation arrangements prior to arriving at Tri-County Vascular Care for your procedure. If you do not have someone to drive you, please contact our center for assistance with transportation arrangements.

Insulin Usage

If you take insulin, take a half of dose of insulin the evening prior to your procedure and none the day of your procedure. Continue to check your blood sugar level. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Tri-County Vascular Care.

How to Dress for Your Visit and What to Bring

We recommend you wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing. Be sure to bring a jacket or sweater. Our center is air-conditioned and can get cold in some areas. We will provide you with a light snack following your procedure. If there are specific items you need, please bring it with you to the appointment.
